Belle Mead, NJ- It was
an early morning for the hump street boys on the day after
Halloween. The field was muddy and slick but that
didn’t seem to slow down either side. Hump street got
off to a great start in the first half, dominating in both
possession and opportunities. It seemed it would be an
easy day at about the 20th minute when right full
back Diego Quattrocchi served up some Italian magic. He
dropped a ball brilliantly into the the box where the buffalo
bill Jeremy Watson was patiently waiting, and he buried the
header to give Hump Street an early lead. The domination
of possession continued and Hump Street nearly doubled their
tally when new face John Barrajo took a rifle from about 20
yards out. Cranfords keeper made an unbelievable one
handed save on the dipping shot. All signs seemed
to be pointed in a the direction of a hump street victory
until with about 5 minutes left in the first half Cranford got
on the board with a controversial goal involving a slide
tackle on the Hump Street goalkeeper Angelo Ratto. Both
teams came out hungry for a win in the second half as the
referee became card happy with the Gialloblu. After the
speedy right midfielder nico ratto was handed a yellow card
for a clean slide tackle, chaos ensued. The assistant
coach Chubrock Percontino became livid with the referee’s
decision and gave him a piece of his mind… for approximately
15 minutes straight. He was sent to the children’s
playground to view the rest of the match. With about 10
minutes left, Striker Pino Tubito seemed to be back to regular
form as he chested down a ball in the boxed, turned on the
defender and placed the ball neatly into the back of the net,
putting Hump Street ahead for good.

| Parsippany,
NJ- After winning their opener, Hump Street took
on their cross town counterparts in week 2. Hump Street
quickly jumped to an early lead getting two goals from
Salazar in the opening 25 minutes. The Lions looked
a bit flate goin into halftime, but magic happened as Coach
Ray Bueno took the sidelines in the second half to motivate
his team. The second half started much different than the
first with good play from both sides, but it was the gialloblu
who opened their lead further as Ratto was taken down in the
box and converted the spot kick. The Lions pulled one back ten
minutes later. Hump Street responded well as Salazar completed
his hat trick for the 4-1 lead. The gialloblu could not
close the game out from their sitting back with the lead
the Lions quickly gained momentum and in the final 10
minutes scored two goals one off a free kick rebounding off
the keeper Ratto. Hump Street managed to hold on in the
final couple minutes to win 4-3. |

| Parsippany,
NJ- Hump opened their season with a big win against
Spring Street at Jannarone Park in Parsippany. Coach
Nicola "Chubrock" Percontino managed the match to perfection
with Giuseppe Ferrara away on vacation in his hometown of
Palermo, Italy. The early minutes of the match were very
shaky and Spring Street took advantage to take a 1-0 lead. The
gialloblu quickly reacted as Salazar slipped Watson through
who then dribbled past the keeper and walked the ball in the
net. Spring St reacted again as a shallow cross came across
the face of the goal and was defelcted into the back of the
net. What looked to be a suspect first half quickly turned
around as Hump Street scored 2 goals in the final 10 minutes
to capture the lead. Narciso ("Gattuso") low rocket found
the lower right corner through traffic. Then it was Vercollone
who got on the score sheet. The gialloblu came out determined
in the second half and were quickly on the board through a
doppietta di il "Francese" Michele Gambino. His first slotting
home the empty net after a string of passes. The second off a
feed from Salazar which Gambino took well to beat the kepper
in the lower left corner. With the 5-2 lead the gialloblue
were cruising to victory. Spring Street gave one last scare as
a ball was played behind the back line to a lonesome Spring St
player who converted the one on one. In the closing
minutes the pitbull Michele "Gattuso" found the back
of the net for the second time in the match blasting a shot in
front of goal into the upper corner. |

 |
| Jersey City, NJ: Hump
Street opened up their pre-season campaign with a friendly
match against Secaucus FC at the Caven Point Complex in Jersey
City, NJ. It was a good conditioning test for the
players as the temperature and humidity made it very
difficult. In the opening minutes both teams looked fresh
and well matched. Secaucus had an early couple of
chances with a shot from distance and a header that
sailed over from a corner kick. Hump Street opened the
scoring first with a strike in the 33rd minute from newbie
Christian Vercollone. It was Vercollone again on the second
goal 7 minutes later as he was played in one on one with the
keeper and struck a near post shot to double the gialloblu's
lead. Hump Street went into the half with a 2 goal
lead. Hump Street looked stronger in the second half and
came through with a third goal. Zekiroski's blast from
distance left the keeper no chance as it sailed into the upper
corner. Zekiroski nearly doubled his tally minutes later, but
a brilliant save from Kevin East kept the scoring at 3. In the
final 15 minutes Gambino closed out the scoring for the day
with a shot from 35 yards out that caught the keeper of guard
as it blew past him over his head and into the top netting. A
very strong performance by the gialloblu and the team looks to
build on this performance on Saturday when the team
will play for the coveted Skyline Cup trophy. The
gialloblue opens up against Hoboken FC 1912 then takes on
Secaucus FC and finishing up against Hoboken City
All-Stars. |
